I couldn’t think of a good name for this category. Anything I came up with seemed cold. But this part of dealing with the death of a loved one kind of is.
There is so much to navigate when your next of kin dies. From organising the funeral to dealing with the coroner (if necessary) to trying to understand what happened and learning how to complain and be heard.

Especially in the case of something sudden and preventable, like suicide, there is a lot to deal with. And no systems are set up for us, the families. They all seem set up to help government departments deny responsibility.
In this section of Without Your Light, you’ll find articles that deal with any of the processes after death. From what we learn about navigating the coronial process to holding a funeral. As well as getting help for our living children.
I am still very much learning how to navigate everything. I’ll share how we go here.
